#MusicMonday with Rachel Harris

Music inspires me, as I’m sure it inspires many of you, and creating playlists for the books I write is an integral part of my process. When I wrote Accidentally Married On Purpose, and the subsequent spin-off Country Blues series, my playlists were even more vital because my heroes were in a world-famous country music band. Music was their life…well, until they met women who threw them for a loop. For Tyler and Sherry’s story, music was so important that the playlist didn’t just inspire me, one of the song titles was even my working title for the book, and to this day, I often call it by the wrong name.

I sometimes do that to my children, too, much to their delight. Mama brain is real, y’all…

My playlist for Accidentally Married on Purpose is super unique in that a large majority of it is made up of Hunter Hayes songs—it’s like he crawled into my head and knew exactly what I needed to hear for inspiration. Tyler himself became an interesting mix of Hunter Hayes and Luke Bryan in my mind while drafting. Not at all a bad image to have ?

ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED ON PURPOSE PLAYLIST:

  • Hunter Hayes I Want Crazy ß this is the main theme song of the book

  • Hunter Hayes Wanted

  • Hunter Hayes Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me

One ring plus one wild night equals one crazy love

Sherry Robicheaux loves men. She loves love. And she loves an adventure. So when she meets a mysterious man while working backstage at a country music concert in Vegas, she’s all about what’s happened in Vegas staying there.

Country music superstar Tyler Blue just wants a weekend of anonymity…though there’s something about the spunky waitress with the streaks of purple hair that tempts him like no other. Until the next morning, when they both wake up with fuzzy memories…and rings on their fingers.

Convincing Sherry to maintain the ruse for his public image isn’t the hardest part—it’s reminding himself that their time spent playing husband and wife in her small town of Magnolia Springs can’t last. Tyler’s first love will always be music—and the road is no place for a sweet down home girl.
