JLA fans, take note! This is some big news, people.
B. I. G.
If you’re a Jennifer L. Armentrout fan (and if you’re not, you should be!), be ready to line up at bookstores and big box stores come June 3, 2014. That’s the day the Lux series will be issued in special collector’s edition trade paperback volumes. Books one and two, Obsidian and Onyx, will be combined in one volume Lux: Beginnings, and books three and four, Opal and Origin, will be bound in a second volume Lux: Consequences. These will feature all new packaging, original content, and special cover treatments.
In case you’ve been in a cave, the Lux series has had readers spellbound from the moment Obsidian released, catapulting the author Jennifer L. Armentrout to USA Today and New York Times bestselling superstardom. With more than 300,000 units sold in the series and a movie deal recently inked with Sierra Infinity, The Lux Series is poised to reach amazing new heights in 2014. We can’t wait!
This from Liz Pelletier, our intrepid publisher, and Jennifer’s editor: “Our initial print runs and sales far exceeded our expectations. Jennifer’s fans are loyal and enthusiastic about the Lux series, and about main characters, Katy and Daemon. We wanted to offer these collectible editions as a thank you for their unbelievable support over the last two years, and as a way to commemorate what has been one of our greatest success stories as a publishing house.”
So, yeah. Get ready!
As if the volumes themselves weren’t enough, the publicity team at Entangled will be running a “Name the Launch City” campaign, as well as the second Daemon Invasion campaign with Jennifer’s massive social media following, allowing the fans to once more be active participants in Armentrout’s books and success. Remember the Daemon Invasion, round 1, anybody?
Now, take note. The original covers will be phased out of production in anticipation of the new combined volumes. The release of these special volumes in the Lux series is happening as Obsidian, book one, gears up for production as a major motion picture. So snap up those puppies up quick! Obsidian was optioned earlier this year by Sierra Affinity, the same people who brought Ender’s Game to the big screen this fall. Who thinks Daemon and Katy will give Edward and Bella a run for their money?
Our greatest hope is that these new editions with bonus content will expand Jennifer’s readership, bringing the dynamic world she’s created to an even wider audience. As one of this year’s amazing success stories, we’re proud to continue this journey with Jennifer and offer this amazing series in a new format for her fans.
Very excited about this!
Absolutely jumping up and down with excitement. I love the Lux series.
