#Top5 Travel Wish List with Tonya Burrows

I love to travel. Ever since I was in elementary school, I’ve been fascinated by different cultures and far away lands. When I was little, I read to fulfill that wanderlust. Now, I write.

All of the books in the HORNET series take place internationally, but mostly in war-torn places that, while gorgeous and fascinating in their own rights, are also extremely dangerous. Only CODE OF HONOR has the distinction of taking place somewhere I’ve been longing to visit: the fabulously gorgeous island of Martinique. Since CODE OF HONOR is on sale this week, I thought it would be fun to do a Top 5 post about my travel wishlist.

Wishlist Destination 1: Thailand

I’ve been fascinated by Thailand since I was in the fourth grade and had an exchange student teacher who told us all about her country.

Wishlist Destination 2: New Zealand

This one dates back to my love for Xena: Warrior Princess during middle school.

The show was filmed in New Zealand and I distinctly remember the sweeping, gorgeous landscapes. I want to go!

Wishlist Destination 3: Greece

So this may or may not also have something to do with my love for Xena. (Okay, who am I kidding, it totally does!) I went through a pretty serious mythology geek phase and would love to visit all of that history.

Wishlist Destination 4: Ireland

I could say I want to see the green hills and craggy cliffs (which I do!) but…

…really it’s the accent. I want to be surrounded by that lovely brogue.

Wishlist Destination 5: Bora Bora

Enough said.

Have you been to any of my wishlist destinations? What are your Top 5?

Jesse Warrick used to consider himself a kickass medic, but a teammate’s brush with death has him questioning everything. Now he’s been promoted to field commander of HORNET. How can he lead when he can’t get his shit together? And how can he focus when the sexy new recruit makes him want to break the rules?

Lanie Delcambre can’t seem to find solid footing within the elite hostage rescue team. Worse, the man she’s loved for most of her life is now her boss. She’d kill to act on the chemistry between her and Jesse, but she can’t risk ruining her career.

It was only supposed to be a training mission. No live ammo, no hostages, and no real bad guys—only someone didn’t give the bad guys that memo. When their hotel is taken hostage with half of HORNET inside, Jesse and Lanie are the team’s only hope of escaping alive…

Tonya wrote her first romance in 8th grade and hasn’t put down her pen since. She received a B.A. in creative writing from SUNY Oswego and is working on a MFA in popular fiction at Seton Hill University. Tonya shares her life with two dogs and a ginormous cat. She’s from a small town in Western New York, but she suffers from a bad case of wanderlust and usually ends up moving someplace new every few years. Luckily, her animals are all excellent travel buddies. When she’s not writing, Tonya can be found at a bookstore or the dog park. She also enjoys painting, watching movies, and her daily barre workouts.
