A Moroccan Adventure…

As I sit here writing this, on a freezing cold day in the heart of the English countryside, the heat and humidity of Morocco seem a million miles away to me.

I was twenty-four when I boarded a plane to North Africa to work on a movie set, just like my heroine, Charlie, in my new romance, Hot Nights in Morocco. The plan was to fly direct to Casablanca and connect with a domestic flight down to a town called Ouarzazate, which in 2004 was a hub for international movie activity (The Mummy, Gladiator etc…)

As luck would have it, my connecting flight was cancelled. With no other way to reach the Saharan Desert set, a production driver was dispatched to pick me up and drive me the entire way (ten hours or so…) It was such an exciting way to be introduced to the real Morocco. Our journey took us through the stunning Atlas Mountains and across a wide expanse of the desolate landscape, and inspired many of the descriptive scenes in Hot Nights:

“In the distance I can see the soaring peaks of the Atlas Mountains conquering the landscape like an army of craggy-faced militia…”

We stopped for dinner at my driver’s village sometime in the evening, and his relatives welcomed me into their home like I was the movie star. None of us spoke the other’s language, but we still managed to hold a conversation of smiles and laughter over the dinner table. I have no idea what food I ate, or where in the heck I was and with whom, but I still remember it like it was yesterday.

Five hours later, we arrived at the crew’s hotel in a small town called Erfoud, and my next adventure began…

I just started my dream job. Too bad it comes with movie mogul Jake Dalton who’s equal parts sexy and arrogant ass. He’s also a man who comes with a thousand warning signs. Good thing I have zero interest in complicating my life.

But while stuck on set in one of the most exotic places in the world, the desert heat isn’t the only thing making me sweat. The more time we spend together, the harder it is to deny the chemistry sizzling between us.

When we finally give in…the sex is off the charts. But Jake has too many secrets, and combined with my past, trust is impossible. This craziness is temporary, right?
