#AskAnAuthor with Kyra Jacobs

Today, March 12th, is National #JohnnyAppleseedDay, which has author Kyra Jacobs filled with all sorts of good thoughts. Why? Because Johnny Appleseed is a pretty big deal in her hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. There, in a park named after the legend, is a grave marking the spot where the infamous apple seed sower rests.

To honor the man born as John Chapman, Fort Wayne hosts a huge festival honoring him the third weekend of every September to commemorate his birthday on the 26th. The Johnny Appleseed festival (https://www.johnnyappleseedfest.com/) is a jump back in time to the 1800s, with historic reenactments of cannon firings and blacksmithing, has sales and demonstrations of hand-crafted goods, and…FOOD.

Kyra: Yes, OMG the food!!!

Entangled: So, Kyra, what are some of your favorite Johnny Appleseed Festival foods?

Kyra: Is “all of them” the wrong answer? LOL The festival requires all food (and crafts) be made using only materials/ingredients that were available in Johnny’s day. That means everything is made from scratch and freaking awesome.

The ham and beans with their freshly made cornbread are divine, but there’s a ton more options ranging from BBQ chicken to sausage to soups. And while I haven’t tried the turkey legs grilled over an open fire, I totally get a kick out of watching people walk around mowing on a giant turkey leg.

As for me, I always make sure to save plenty of room for dessert because there’s a ton of options! Kettle corn, fried apples rolled in cinnamon sugar, apple pie, apple cider, apple cobbler…the list goes on and on. My all time favorite, though, are the apple dumplings. Apples cradled in doughy goodness, baked and then drizzled in caramel and topped with whipped cream (or ice cream). I’m drooling just thinking about it!! Can it be September already??

Check out Kyra’s new release The Soccer Player and the Single Mom today!

For most women, working for a sexy soccer star would be a dream come true. All except single mom Felicity Shaw. She has no interest in playing personal assistant for a stubborn, injured playboy—no matter how nice his abs are. But with bills piling up and mouths to feed, she can’t say no to the job.

That’s when it gets interesting.

The last thing Scott Gillie wants or needs is a persistent and entirely too distracting PA while he’s recuperating in his small hometown. Unfortunately, it’s not up to him. Then Felicity and her son end up temporarily moving in—all thanks to his meddlesome grandmother. Now temptation is right across the hall and it’s driving Scott crazy.

His only option is to fight fire with fire.

He never expects Felicity to do the same.
