I was living in New York and working as an intern at a magazine during the summer between my junior and senior years of college. A group of us when to a bar in SoHo one Friday night. I was sitting with a friend when a couple guys came over. One told my friend she looked like a glamorous movie star. I don’t remember which one, but I do remember what his buddy said to me after the two of them had gone off to dance. He started by saying that I, too, looked like someone famous. Go on, I thought. Then he ruined by smiling broadly and announcing, “Yeah, like that nun in The Sound of Music.” Just what every 21-year-old woman wants to hear!
