Four Upcoming LGBT Book to Watch Out For

Happy Pride to all of our LGBTQIA+ readers, authors, and staff!

While there are quite a few Queer titles you can start reading right away, there are also a few titles to watch out for, and we don’t want them slipping under your radar.

Evergreen by Devin Greenlee

two hands held together, vines and flowers climb up their arms. On some of the flowers, blue and white butterflies are sat. Over the two wrists is the title, EVERGREEN, with the tagline "trapped for sixteen years, what's a thousand more?" beside it. Author DEVIN GREENLEE is noted at the bottom over a dark floral background.

Nature buries secrets—at least until they grow in this m/m coming of age fairy tale retelling from debut author Devin Greenlee.

Evergreen is set to release January 2, 2024!

The Valkyrie’s Shadow by Tiana Warner

A purple background with lighter purple filigree. Over that is gold filigree along the top and bottom corners. A shield featuring a tree motif and several runes. Behind that is two wings and two pole arms. The title, in gold, says THE VALKYRIE'S SHADOW. The tag line, above the title, says "war is just the beginning" and the authors name, TIANA WARNER is listed at the bottom of the cover.

Being both a valkyrie and a princess isn’t turning out quite the way Sigrid imagined. The other valkyries still treat her like a stable hand. Her relationship with Mariam is less “long-distance” and more “worlds apart.” And lately, she’s been wondering if Sleipnir, her new horse, isn’t making her a little bit…well, evil.

But Sigrid’s first official valkyrie mission sends ripples through the Nine Worlds. She’s attracted the wrath of not only the Night Elves but their sinister king, who wants nothing more than to bring darkness down on everyone. Worse yet, Loki might just be interfering with the balance of light and dark…

When war threatens the shores of Vanaheim and her friends are in danger of being exiled, Sigrid makes a deal with the new queen. She will ride Sleipnir against their enemies and use his might to defeat them, even as he pulls her closer to that line between good and evil.

What she becomes will either save everyone…or unleash disaster upon them all.

The Valkyrie’s Shadow is set to release July 25, 2023!

Star Bringer by Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft

A blue and gold marble background. At the top of the cover, it says "#1 new york times bestselling author Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft" beneath that, there is a metallic circle. inside is a triangle with a sun motif. Beneath that, in rose gold, is the title "STAR BRINGER" with the tagline "how much space does one princess need?" underneath.

Firefly meets The Breakfast Club in this snarky, new adult romance.

The sun is dying…and it’s happening way too damn fast.

With the clock ticking, the Nine Planets’ only hope of survival rests on a fancy space station and the alien artifact it’s carrying. Which is why it really sucks when some jackass doesn’t want the universe saved and blows that station up—while you’re still on it.

So if your only choices are flaming death or stealing a flying hunk of space junk—you pick that busted-ass spaceship. Even if it leaves seven strangers with deadly secrets trapped together: a princess, a prisoner, a con artist, a warrior, a priestess, a mercenary, and an asshole in charge of us all.

Now every faction in the galaxy is hunting this ship—from the Sisterhood to the Corporation, and the rebellion’s joining in on the fun, too. We just need to stop drinking, fighting, and screwing long enough to evade them all and save the freaking universe…somehow.

Because apparently the only thing standing between a dying sun and ultimate salvation is seven unlikely misfits…ahem, heroes.

Star Bringer is set to release July 11, 2023!

Hearts Forged in Dragon Fire by Erica Hollis

A gradient purple sky with mountains and a castle in the distance, dragons flying in the air. Two women stand in the foreground. At the top of the cover it says "once burned, twice as sly." The title, HEARTS FORGED IN DRAGON FIRE, is across most of the cover. At the bottom is the authors name, ERICA HOLLIS.

For fans of Abigail Owen and Samantha Shannon comes a breathtaking, energetic novel where the only way to defeat a dragon is to outsmart it…

Most dragontongues don’t live long enough to learn from their mistakes. Lotte Meer is luckier than most, surviving long enough to communicate with the fierce, sullen, and temperamental dragons who are not above enjoying a human as a light snack. And she has the scars to prove it.

Now a massive, foul-tempered dragon has taken over the town of Morwassen’s Pass, taking the citizens hostage. As long as they bring him their gold and treasure, he won’t reduce their city to a smoking heap of ash and death. Only, the treasure is running out and Lotte—with the help of sharp-tongued, unbelievably cute Maryse Basvaan—is their last and only hope.

But this dragon is more cunning—and more cruel—than any other. Not only is he holding Lotte’s estranged mom captive, but he has a taste for betrayal…and somehow he’s stricken some kind of secret deal with the girl who’s already gone and stolen Lotte’s heart.

Lotte won’t fail. She can’t.

Because if she does…everyone dies.
