Exclusive Character Interview with Mel Teshco

Now that the 2336 Virgin Hunt Games is done, I’m here with special permission from two of our favorite surviving contestants for a brief interview.

*clears throat*

How is life after the Games?

Alita: It couldn’t be better. We survived some of the worst seven days seen inside the tower. It makes whatever we might go through here on Earth a walk in the park in comparison.

Stetson: What can I say? I’ve found the love of my life with Alita, she’s all I care about. That we’ll be a family soon makes my happiness complete.

So in a sense, these Games brought you together?

Alita: I guess they did. We could have declined becoming contestants, but we knew we had unresolved issues between us, so our past defined our future in that respect. If we hadn’t known each other, I doubt either of us would have said yes to seven days of hell and indiscriminate sex.

Stetson: I would never have become a hunted if Alita wasn’t there. Not even for the credits that would see me walk normally again. I wonder now if deep down I’d hoped to resolve our issues.

So there are no hard feelings toward one another?

Alita: Our only hard feelings are that we waited so long to learn the truth.

Stetson: And wasted too many years imagining the worst.

Do you have any words of advice for any future contestants?

Alita: My advice—don’t enter the Games. But if you do, be prepared for the chance that you might be leaving as ashes. *turns to Stetson* I was just lucky to have you watch my back.

Stetson: I have no regrets being a contestant. I came away with the woman I loved and more than enough credits to live off for the rest of our lives. It was a win-win for me, for us both.

Last but not least, what is next for Alita and Stetson?

Alita: I never imagined in a million years I’d say this, but I’m looking forward to raising a family and enjoying my time as a wife and a mother. Living as peaceful a life in our country home as we can.

Stetson: I can’t wait to be the best version of myself for Alita, growing old with her and watching our children grow up. And of course, there is my working life with horses. *shrugs* Surely life can’t get any better than that.

EARTH, YEAR 2336

Warrior Alita Silver has one chance to prove herself, and competing in the Virgin Hunt Games will show everyone on her planet she deserves the promotion that’s been held just out of reach. But this time, the rules of the games have changed. The virginal women have gone from being the hunted to being the hunters. And then she meets her competitors…

Stetson Jamb remembers Alita from their last encounter—a little too well. Mostly, he remembers that she left him for dead and destroyed his life. Winning the games would not only earn him the credits he needs to rebuild his life, but would also satisfy his need for revenge. If only he didn’t want her so damn badly. Apparently, revenge isn’t the only dish tempting him…

All’s fair in war and sex, and with the rules turned upside down, the lines between the pursued and the pursuer are quickly blurring. It’s not just a question of winning anymore. It’s a question of who lives, who dies, and who comes…last.

Mel Teshco loves to write scorching paranormal, sci-fi and contemporary stories. Not easy with five cats, two dogs and a fat black thoroughbred vying for attention, especially when Mel’s also busily stuffing around on Facebook. With only one daughter now living at home to feed two minute noodles, she still shakes her head at how she managed to write with three daughters and three stepchildren living under the same roof. Not to mention Mr. Semi-Patient (the one and same husband hoping for early retirement…he’s been waiting a few years now…)Clearly anything is possible, even in the real world.

You can follow Mel on Facebook, Twitter, and check out her website to stay up to date on the latest news!
