Jennie Marts’ Favorite Summer Drink

Summer is here and that means sitting by the pool, or the lake, or on the front porch visiting and sipping on something cool.

When it’s hot outside, I love something icy and cold and have a fun summer favorite that I make. It’s called a Margarita Slush– but you could make it with alcohol or without, and it’s delicious either way. It’s so easy, too.

Just take:

One (12 oz) can of frozen lemonade (undiluted, thawed)

One (12 oz) can of frozen limeade (undiluted, thawed)

One (6 oz) can of frozen orange juice (undiluted, thawed)

6 cups water

2 cups tequila (optional)

Mix all ingredients together then divide into 3 gallon Ziploc bags and freeze overnight.

When ready to serve, take out a bag, pour it into a pitcher and add in a half of a cold 2-liter of lemon-lime soda then mush it all together and serve.

So yummy and perfect for a hot day!

Summertime is full of opportunities to make memories with your favorite fun drinks. In my latest Lovestruck book, Romancing the Ranger, Wade wins Reese over by bringing her an iced caramel latte. My favorite iced coffee is a Caramel Machiato from Starbucks. I also love a late night run to Sonic for Cherry Limeades and of course, no summer road trip is complete without a spontaneous stop to grab Blizzards at a DQ off the highway.
