Gone With the Wolf Character Interview Emelia Hudson

gonewiththewolf

Hello everyone! Kristin Miller has stopped by today with one of her characters from GONE WITH THE WOLF, Emilia Hudson to talk about the book, werewolves, beer, and love! So without further ado we give you Kristin and Emilia!

I got the chance to sit down with Drake Wilder, Alpha werewolf of the Seattle Wolf Pack and hero in Gone with the Wolf, and that interview can be found on Grave Tells today. After asking some pretty tough questions, I thought it was only fair if I put Emelia Hudson in the same hot seat. Emelia was excited to sit with me and speak her mind. I met with her at Starbucks, and got the real scoop over Zebra Mochas:

Hi Emelia, and thanks for meeting with me today!

It’s my pleasure!

Drake gave us a rundown of the basics in Gone with the Wolf, but something tells me you might have a different take. What’s the book about?

It’s about finding everlasting love, but I’m sure Drake didn’t say that. He probably told you that I threw a wrench in his gears and messed up all the boring plans he’d had for his life. It’s the truth, but far less romantic. Gone with the Wolf is about Drake, an Alpha wolf and CEO, and how he’d given up the search for his fated mate, his Luminary…me. (She grins.) I showed up, everything that Drake never knew he always wanted, and changed everything. I was reluctant to see Drake for who he really was at first because I received some mail from Wilder Financial stating that Drake purchased the building that my bar, the Knight Owl resides in…the one I believed I’d already purchased fair and square. It was a confusing time, and I was bitter as hell. While I sought answers, my heart sought his. The rest is history.

So Drake, Alpha wolf of the largest wolf pack in Seattle, was the guy who ripped your bar from beneath you. Who is he to you now?

He’s everything. I’ve never had a family, at least not in the sense that others use, and he’s given me that. Drake makes me feel like I’m the most beautiful woman on the planet, even on those lazy days when I’m in my pajamas and my hair looks like a rat’s been burrowing through it. That’s true love right there.

Now that you’re together, you’ve become an Alpha’s mate. What’s that like?

I’d like to tell you that it’s all roses, but it’s not. His duties take him away a lot of times, but I understand that he’s got a responsibility to run the pack and the business he’s built for himself. There are dangers out there too—rogue wolves who would like to sever the connection we’ve made. But Drake makes every effort to keep me out of harm’s way, and I’ve never felt safer.

How would you describe your perfect date?

This question is easy—I’ve already had it! It was the night at the Vanguard Gala. I absolutely loved my dress—it was long and black, with a flaring bottom and drop back—and Drake made me feel like Cinderella when I was with him. Sure, there were a few…hiccups…at the end of the night, but those hiccups led me to where I am today. I can’t regret something that led to the happiest time of my life.

What do you most love about Drake?

His strength and commanding presence. At first, I bucked against him and the possessiveness that comes with the position of Alpha, but now…let’s just say I’m happy to let him take control, especially when it comes to the boardroom and bedroom. (Emelia hitches her eyebrows and winks, and I can’t help but laugh.)

Your worst quality?

Oh, doggie. I think Drake would say it’s my willingness to jump into a situation with both feet without thinking first, but I’m gonna disagree. I think my worst quality is my hesitation when it comes to relationships. I tend to keep people at arm’s length—the way I did with Drake—and I think that can make me seem like I don’t care. In reality, I simply don’t want to get hurt. I’m still learning.

Okay, Emelia, let’s do fast five:

Beach or mountains?: Beach. Let me sink my toes in the sand and I’m a happy girl.

Milk Chocolate or Dark?: Zomg, both.

Beer or wine?: Beer. Darker the better.

Go to movies or Red Box it?: If Drake is planning the evening, I’m gonna say Red Box it! because I know what’s coming, and I’m all in!

I’d like to thank Emelia Hudson for sitting down to talk with me today. And I’d like to thank the lovely ladies at Entangled for allowing me to post the interview on their blog!
